What to do
Our favorite local spots.
A small, opinionated guide to the places we send our own friends. Nothing touristy — just the good stuff.
On the water
Morning paddle
Kayaks live on the dock. The lake is glass before 9am — pack a thermos.
Swimming cove
Walk left along the shore for 5 minutes to find a deeper, sheltered swimming spot.
Sunset cruise
We can recommend a friend who runs pontoon tours — just ask.
Eat & drink
The Pine Diner
Best breakfast in town. Get there early on weekends.
Old Mill Brewing
Tiny taproom 12 minutes away. Patio is dog friendly.
Lakeside Market
Stop in for fresh sourdough, local cheese, and basic groceries.
Out & about
Cedar Ridge Trail
Easy 4-mile loop with a small waterfall halfway through.
Farmers' market
Saturdays 8am–noon in the village square — tomatoes are unreal in August.
Antiques row
Three blocks of barn-sized shops 20 minutes north. Hidden gems guaranteed.
Rainy day
Board game cabinet
Stocked with classics and a few weird ones. Catan included.
Local bookshop
Cozy two-story shop with a coffee bar in the back.
Movies on the projector
Smart TV in the living room — sign in to your own accounts.
